Maryam Nassir Zadeh's path comes out of a past that's cultivated the iconic rise of her eponymous New York store and soon after namesake line. Roots in fashion run deep in Iran where her grandmother had owned an avant-garde fashion boutique, "Nobody was importing from Italy or France like she was in the 70’s.” Maryam cites this as her initial source of inspiration. With an eye towards modernity and timeless designs, Maryam keeps a pulse on vintage from the past which inspires her to fill in the gaps where most designers fall short resulting in a aesthetic that Maryam has undoubtedly made her own.
