The designer introduces a playful take on the memorable hair ties of the past, featuring 2 large round wooden beads creating a striking visual balance suspended on nylon cord. This piece is made of local beech and maple wood found in Germany, the beads are glazed and lacquered for a semi-glossy finish that will not scratch easily.
Saskia Diez was formally trained as a goldsmith with a focus on industrial design, that lead eventually to jewelry design. Diez works with a handful of goldsmiths in and around Munich, in Pforzheim and Werne. One of their core values is staying very local in creation, being so, they have close relationships with everyone they work with and continue to contribute employment to the thoughtful creation of handmade techniques.
