A.M.S explores familiar motifs and histories surrounding creation, while working with textiles and other wearables. Based in and shipped from New York City. All AMS textiles, including colored pigment on white cotton are processed naturally. Her practice includes soymilk, earth pigments, and indigo powders. By some magic, this process creates a permanent bond with the fabric. A.M.S Jeans, however, are an extension of my most familiar medium, and painted with white acrylic paint. All jeans sourced are second-hand or vintage, painting only on Levi 501s, 505s, or silvertabs.
Before they reach you, each piece has been rinsed both by hand and at the laundromat to ensure desired color, fade, and overall look. Her intention is to create something that appears found, sort of ancient, as if touched by the sun.
All A.M.S tanks are 100% cotton, Czech deadstock. Free size, standard sizes medium to large.
