    Island Noon

In 1963 Pegge Hopper had recently moved to Hawaii where she currently lives and began painting portraits of Hawaiian women after coming across archives of old photographs. Hawaiian women lying on the beach, playing their ukuleles, and greeting the boats inspired her art and forged her unique aesthetic as an artist.  Originally done as an acrylic painting in the 1980s, these prints are a limited edition of 3. Signed and dated by the artist.
