MGN Jewellery was started in 2019 by Megan Baker in Melbourne, Australia. Their work is inspired by fantasy, energy, antique silhouettes and brutalist/modernist textural work. As of 2020, all of MGN’s pieces are made with 100% recycled silver and gold, using lab grown gemstones or carefully sourced gemstones from trusted suppliers. Baker is fascinated with collecting unusual stones, often designing metal work as a mere vessel for celebrating their beauty. They especially love working with Australian stones, mainly opals and sapphires. I also explore the way gemstones are spiritual to people, manifesting virtues and energies with certain stones.
