Turtleneck long sleeve pleated top. Spotted circle top with lettuce seaming throughout. Lightweight fabric feels and looks like silk but made using a unique chiffon polyester fabrication to ensure the pleats and dyes are optimized for longevity. All items made by hand individually, ensuring a unique piece. Hand-pleating technique uses Shibori technique creating a beautiful irregularity.
Julia Heuer is the eccentric master of a Japanese tie-dying technique called Arashi Shibori. The combination of unique patterns and handmade plissee creates a look that cannot be replicated. She gives this ancient technique a contemporary and bold makeover that delights with sensuous colors and a brash mix of patterns. Before launching her eponymous fashion line, she was the Head of Print Design for renown textile company Jakob Schlaepfer. During her tenure she created unique prints for various fashion houses such as Christian Dior, Comme des Garcons, Calvin Klein and others. Most recently, Heuer was awarded the prestigious Swiss Design Prize in 2016 for her collection Adobe Indigo.
Louise is 5’8” tall and measures 32” bust, 26” waist, and 35” hips. This item is one size only, the pleats expand to fit most sizes. Material is 100% Polyester Chiffon. For care, hand wash only. Store the garments by laying them rather than hanging, this helps keep the pleats in form. Made in Europe, Printed in Netherlands & Estonia.
